Watch her disappear - Tom Waits

Last night I dreamed that I was dreaming of you
And from a window across the lawn I watched you undress
Wearing your sunset of purple tightly woven around your hair
That rose in strangled ebony curls
Moving in a yellow bedroom light
The air is wet with sound
The faraway yelping of a wounded dog
And the ground is drinking a slow faucet leak (...)

And I hear a banjo tango
And you dance into the shadow of a black poplar tree
And I watched you as you disappeared
I watched you as you disappeared...

I love this! I spent the entire day yesterday researching classic ballet to post-modern ballet. This works perfectly to soothe my fried brain. Thanks! xox

) ..really, Claudia? I'm glad I helped you in that research. I love Tom Waits and I used to dance ballet long time ago. I found this video so deep. Big hug!

Absolutely true. But that's how the world works, yes? I teach a class called Seminar in the Arts, and next Thursday I'm lecturing on a company that does what they call transformative ballet, incorporating moves from modern dance tradition (which I know a little bit about) creating a new language of movement. Pretty cool stuff, check out Alonzo King Lines Ballet. They're doing Scheherazade this fall with live music by Zakir Hussain! Big hug back, and I hope to see you when you're back in SF! xox

I wish some day I can attend one of your classes, that would be great! the lecturing of next Thursday sounds very interesting. Dance is the poetry in movement. I will check out your recommendations, thanks. Of course we'll see when I'll be back there. xoxo
